Please note - this cost of the class is $85 every month or $25 per class (you get a discounted class by paying for the whole month). Adding this item to your cart signs you up for auto-pay. All Clay! Wheelthrowing and Handbuilding Class for kids and teens.
Description:
Welcome to the fascinating world of clay! In this exciting and hands-on class, students of all ages will explore the magical medium of clay through wheelthrowing and handbuilding techniques. Whether you're a seasoned potter or a complete beginner, this class offers a nurturing environment for creativity and skill development.
Class Schedule:
1. 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM: Ages 5 to 9
2. 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM: Ages 10 & Up
Class Activities:
1. Wheelthrowing Techniques: Students will learn the fundamental principles of wheelthrowing, such as centering, shaping, and trimming clay on the pottery wheel. As they progress, they will create functional items like bowls, cups, and vases, enhancing their pottery skills with each piece.
2. Handbuilding Techniques: Handbuilding opens up a world of possibilities for artistic expression. Through handbuilding, students will mold, pinch, coil, and slab clay to craft unique sculptural pieces. From animals and characters to abstract forms, the possibilities are limitless!
3. Functional and Sculptural Wares: Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to create both functional and decorative ceramic pieces. They'll learn how to glaze and finish their creations, adding vibrant colors and textures to their work.
4. Each 4th week of the month will feature an optional “non-clay” project. These projects will be chosen and prepped ahead of time but student requests will be taken!

Class Requirements:
No prior experience in pottery or clay work is necessary for either age group. Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to explore the world of clay!

Note: Please check the class availability and schedule to reserve your spot as seats are limited. All necessary materials will be provided. Students are advised to dress appropriately for working with clay.
Thursday evenings. Parents may drop off or hang out. Students may join the class that best fits their schedule even if it does not fit their age. This is decided on a case-by-case basis, speak to Ms. Chriztie for more info.
